1. Lenovo Z5s to feature 10GB RAM, dual assistant support; new teaser reveals - Lenovo is all set to launch the Z5s smartphone on December 18. And ahead of the launch, the smartphone maker has been teasing the device and its different features. In the latest teaser, Lenovo Group VP Chang Cheng has shared new information about the Z5s. The Chinese text on the teaser suggests that the smartphone will be equipped with more than 8GB of RAM, which points to 10GB.
It will not be the first smartphone to come with 10GB of RAM, as you already have the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, Mi MIX 3 and Oppo Find X with that much amount of RAM. The teaser also suggests that the Lenovo Z5s will be a gaming smartphone, and will support two personal assistants, GizmoChina reports.
2. Micromax to launch a smartphone with dual front and rear cameras on December 18 - Indian smartphone maker Micromax recently revealed that it plans to launch its first smartphone with a display notch. The launch event is set to take place on December 18, and the company has already sent invites for the same. In the launch invite, the company already teased a smartphone with a notched display, and in the latest teaser on Twitter, Micromax has shed light on some more details.
As of now, we don’t know the name of the Micromax smartphone, but the teaser shows a device with gradient finish. Up front, you can see an iPhone X-like wide notch that houses dual front cameras and an LED flash, along with the earpiece. The screen also seems to have 3D curved edges.
3. Samsung to supply flexible touch OLED displays to Apple for future iPhone - Samsung will reportedly supply flexible OLED displays to Apple for future iPhone models. According a report by Korean publication ET News, Samsung Display has reached an agreement with Apple to supply flexible OLED displays, which it may use for iPhones in future.
The report quoted industry sources saying (via SlashGear), “a senior Samsung Display representative visited Apple in March to propose the supply of touch-integrated OLED panels. […] Since then, contracts have been signed with positive responses.”
4. Samsung Galaxy S10 Price Leaked; Reportedly Launching on February 20 - Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S10 smartphone has been making waves around the internet. It’s undeniably one of the most anticipated smartphones to come out next year. Thanks to all the leaks and rumors, we already know quite a bit about the phone.
And now, according to a new report, we’ve learned that Samsung will debut the new Galaxy S10 and its variants in February. Gizmodo cites an unnamed source to report the Galaxy S10 will be launched on February 20, before MWC 2019.
5. MediaTek Helio P90 SoC With Dual 4G, 48MP Camera Support Is Here - Chipmaker MediaTek announced the Helio P70 SoC which offers a 10-15% boost over the P60 chipset. And now, the company has announced a more powerful SoC – Helio P90 – with a faster CPU, better AI capabilities and support for Google Lens as well as ARCore.
The flagship Helio P90 SoC is a notable upgrade over the P70 and is optimized for better hardware, improved camera, and enhanced connectivity. Compared to the P70, the Helio P90 is better suited for a lower power consumption.
To start off, the Helio P90 features two A75 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six A55 cores at 2.0GHz and this shift from 4+4 configuration to 2+6 is apparently inspired by Snapdragon 670 and 710 aimed at more power-efficient computing. This might result in slightly lower multi-core performance but the more powerful GPU should prevent that from impacting the general gaming performance.
